Therapy Services
I offer therapy to children and adolescents, with a speciality in treating anxiety and ADHD. My goal is to teach my clients to use coping skills to help them thrive. I believe each client is the expert on themselves, and I collaborate with families to tailor evidence-based strategies to each client. I help clients break tasks down into smaller, more manageable steps to help them overcome difficulties.
I use a combination of the following treatment approaches:

Cognitive behavioral therapy teaches kids coping skills, and then helps them put the skills into practice. Coping skills include relaxation, changing unhelpful thoughts to more helpful thoughts, and problem solving. All the treatments I use listed below are types of CBT treatments.

Exposure and response prevention is the primary treatment for OCD, but it is useful in treating all anxiety disorders. Avoidance makes anxiety worse. In exposure therapy, clients slowly face their fears to learn that the feared outcome didn’t happen, or wasn’t as bad as they thought. Exposures are safe practices of facing fears. I take a gradual approach to meet the client where they’re at.

Triple P is a type of parent management training program. Parenting programs help parents create a warm and nurturing environment for their children while maintaining boundaries to provide the child structure. Sample skills taught in Triple P include giving labeled praise, giving clear instructions, setting logical consequences, and using practice scenarios to teach children to regulate their emotions.

In the SPACE program, parents learn to change their behaviors that unintentionally enable their child’s anxiety. We take a gradual approach to help parents be accommodating, while reducing unhelpful accommodations of their child’s anxiety.

Children who sleeps through the night benefit the whole family. Sleep training involves a consistent bedtime routine, reducing “one last thing” requests, calming bedtime fears, and slowly reducing parental presence at bedtime to help the child learn to fall asleep independently.
